Important Notes for Upcoming 5/23 Rehearsal

by Director on May 21, 2013

Hi Everyone,

We are closing in on the last few rehearsals before our concert!

A few important notes:

At this week’s rehearsal, 5/23, we will start by going over the Navy Hymn, and the Service Medley for Memorial Day. If you have these pieces at home, please put them into your folders. We will also have copies of each for anyone who doesn’t already have one. PLEASE be ready to go at 7pm sharp for rehearsal! Come early if possible. We will go over the details of Memorial Day at that time, but it should all be the same as last year (arrive 9:00am at the library for rehearsal, ceremony at 10:00am).

Still looking for someone to talk about “Till We Meet Again,” the small group piece. All the other pieces have people signed up now. Thank you to everyone who has signed up! I will be sending around information I have on each piece to aid you in preparing your talks.

The program order will be:

“You’re the Flower of My Heart, Sweet Adeline”

“In My Merry Oldsmobile”  (for soloists only) (still need soloists…)

“Meet Me in St. Louis, Louis”

“Maple Leaf Rag”   Megan Anthony, piano

“Danny Boy”

“Alexander’s Ragtime Band”

Intermission

“St. Louis Blues”   Brittany Haskell, organ

“Keep the Home Fires Burning”

“Till We Meet Again”    Small Group: Damian McLaughlin, Arden Edwards, Jay Gill, Marvin Karp

Sing Along: “Over There”

“Oh! How I Hate to Get Up in the Morning”

“I’ll Be With You in Apple Blossom Time”

“Puttin’ on the Ritz”

Our encore will be “America the Beautiful” as usual!

Please have your music in concert order for this week’s rehearsal!

Thanks everyone

Brittany
